Peoria, Illinois “City of Lights”

I’ve been so busy this past year working on all kinds of video projects and really haven’t had time to get out and shoot some photos. It also didn’t help that Covid-19 reared it’s ugly head and put a bite into our leisure travels! Oh well! 🙂

The Murray Baker Bridge in Peoria just finished some much needed repairs and was closed for a number of months while that construction was taking place. Besides the repairs to the bridge, LED accent lights have been added to the bridge and as you can see from the photo, it really has stepped up the game for the city of Peoria!

Day and Night PIA!

Monday morning Peoria greetings to one and all!

Well it’s one of those holiday weekends coming up that’s a long weekend and that means this week is a short work week for most of us! The 4th of July is this coming Friday and I know that a lot of you will be traveling or are already traveling for the holiday! Make it a safe one on your travels and also make it a fun one! I know that having a long weekend sure is nice and we can put work aside for a couple of days and have a little fun is even better!!!!

I’m always very proud of Peoria and I think we have a great city here in the Midwest! Last year we won the All-American city for the fourth time in the history of those awards! There’s lots going on in Peoria and also a lot to see and do!!!! We should all be proud that the city is moving forward and not remaining stagnate! The Peoria skyline along the Illinois River has always been a wonderful view from across the river in East Peoria and it’s fun to watch the sun go down and see the lights of city come up!

Here’s a day and night shot of our city!!!!

I hope that you have a safe and wonderful 4th of July this coming weekend and thanks as always for checking out my work!!!! 🙂

Joe Bonamassa

Monday morning Peoria greetings to one and all!!!!

I’m getting back into the flow of things this past week and I can’t complain!

One of the goodies that I shot this past week was a concert with blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa at the Peoria Civic Center. Joe Bonamassa is probably a musician that you haven’t heard of, but he is a guitar player’s guitar player. He did a really interesting thing for his Peoria Civic Center show. The first half of the show was him sitting down and playing an acoustic set of songs with a three piece band and they were all ‘unplugged”. There was a very nice array of songs and different genre’s of music as well. Once the acoustic set was done, they took a 15 minute break and got ready for an electric set. The other thing that I really liked about his electric set is that he had a completely different group of musicians playing in the band for this set!!! Again, a great group of songs and genre’s of music that really made it interesting!!!

Here’s a few of my snaps from the Joe Bonamassa show at the Peoria Civic Center.

Have a great week as always and thanks for checking out my photos!!!

Caterpillar Visitors Center

Monday morning greetings to one and all,

A few weeks ago I shared some photos from the grand opening of the Caterpillar Visitors Center and also the Peoria Riverfront Museum here in Peoria, Illinois. I was able to get out since then and shoot some “glamour” shots of the CVC building durning the day and the night. It’s a good looking building and a photographers dream to shoot!

I hope that you’re going to have a great week to come and thanks as always for checking out my work!!!!
