Day and Night PIA!

Monday morning Peoria greetings to one and all!

Well it’s one of those holiday weekends coming up that’s a long weekend and that means this week is a short work week for most of us! The 4th of July is this coming Friday and I know that a lot of you will be traveling or are already traveling for the holiday! Make it a safe one on your travels and also make it a fun one! I know that having a long weekend sure is nice and we can put work aside for a couple of days and have a little fun is even better!!!!

I’m always very proud of Peoria and I think we have a great city here in the Midwest! Last year we won the All-American city for the fourth time in the history of those awards! There’s lots going on in Peoria and also a lot to see and do!!!! We should all be proud that the city is moving forward and not remaining stagnate! The Peoria skyline along the Illinois River has always been a wonderful view from across the river in East Peoria and it’s fun to watch the sun go down and see the lights of city come up!

Here’s a day and night shot of our city!!!!

I hope that you have a safe and wonderful 4th of July this coming weekend and thanks as always for checking out my work!!!! 🙂

Jeff Burton, Richard Childress, and a new Cat race car!

Monday morning Peoria greetings to one and all!!!

We’re fast approaching the end of the year and things are starting to wind down as they always do here in December!

This past week here in Peoria I got to shoot a fun event at the Caterpillar Visitors Center. Nascar’s RCR (Richard Childress Racing) unveiled their new version of the Cat Chevrolet Impala SS for the 2013 NASCAR racing season. They pulled out all the stops on this one and brought the race car up to Peoria in one of their race haulers and to see that rig in person is amazing!!! Car owner Richard Childress and driver Jeff Burton were also there to do the big unveil and then talk with the media and also do an autograph session with the fans! I was amazed to see Richard and Jeff still having smiles and be upbeat at the end of the two hour autograph session and you have to know that they were both probably a little tired, but they never showed it!!!! Smiles all around!!!!!!

Here’s this weeks promo with some of my snaps from the day at the CVC!

Thanks as always for checking out my work and I hope that you have a great week to come!!!!

If you build it, they will come!!!

Monday morning Peoria greetings to one and all!

It was a long time coming, but the Caterpillar Visitors Center and Peoria Riverfront Museum had their grand openings this past Saturday! These projects have been talked about for years and it was great to see both of these buildings finally completed. This is going to be huge for the city of Peoria and I think that we’ll see other development downtown as well and that will be great!!!!

On Saturday, CVC and PRM had a joint ribbon cutting ceremony and the event started off with Caterpillar CEO Doug Oberhelman arriving on a new Caterpillar locomotive and it was pulling a number of Caterpillar products as well. It was one heck of a way to make an entrance!!!! A number of people responsible for making these projects happen gave some speeches and then the ribbon cutting happened! After that, both facilities were opened to the public and the crowds flocked in! I was only shooting photos at the CVC on Saturday and I’ll have to get over to PRM at some point soon!!!!

Here’s some of my shots from Saturday and the inside of the Caterpillar Visitors Center! Hopefully you’ll be able to make it to see both facilities and enjoy all the hard work that was put into these projects!

Have a great rest of the week and thanks as always for checking out my work!!!!
