Residences at SOSC

Monday morning Peoria greetings to one and all!

Wow, it’s been busy! There is so much going on work-wise right now and it’s a great feeling! Most of this weekend was spent shooting or on the computer editing photos and video from the past week. It wasn’t too upsetting to be on the computer on Saturday with the weather being cold and rainy here in Central Illinois. Sunday was the complete opposite from Saturday and there was glorious sunshine all day and we were out shooting a number of projects, so we took full advantage of the great weather!

One of the ongoing projects is a series of still and video images for our friends at Cullinan Properties. This project took us down to St. Louis and Quincy this past week and the weather was sunny, but very windy! One of the properties that we photographed was the Residences at The Streets of St. Charles. The property is just West of the Missouri River in St. Charles, Mo. and it’s a great set-up. They have condos and then have incorporated shopping as well within the neighborhood. It gives the area a city feeling without all of the hubbub of the big city!

Here’s a series of time-lapse images of the Residences in a nice little YouTube video.

Thanks as always for checking out our work and we hope that you have a great week!!!

Bellefontaine

Monday morning greetings from Owensboro, Kentucky!

We’ll I’ve got one more crazy week of shoots and then it looks like things will be slowing down for the Christmas holiday season as it always does! I’ll push through this week and then from there it will be time to catch up with all the things that I’ve needed to get done and haven’t had time for these past five months! There’s a lot of little things that take a lot of time like burning discs of the jobs that I’ve been doing of late. It’s probably something that will take a number of days since I’ll be burning off about three terabytes of images 25 gigabytes at a time!!!! There’s a number of other things that I need to get done before we start with 2015 in about three weeks!!! Fun, fun, fun!!!! 🙂

On a recent trip down to St. Louis, we were able to get over to the Bellefontaine Cemetery to shoot a little personal photography. It’s not like visiting cemeteries is something that I do often, but when you come across a historic one like Bellefontaine, it’s worth a visit! As a photographer, some of the things that excite me are seeing the architecture and also the design elements at a place like this. There’s lots of old school influences and history going on and some of the things that you’ll see that aren’t done that way anymore. I’m a detail person, so when I see little details in how something was done or presented, it makes for a lot of great photos!

Here’s a few of my snaps from an afternoon spent at the Bellefontaine Cemetery!

Thanks as always for checking out my work and I hope that you have a great week to come!!!! 🙂

Missouri Botanical Gardens

Monday morning Peoria greetings to one and all!!!

Another week of summer has rolled along and we’ve got just a few more weeks before Labor Day weekend and the unofficial end of summer! This summer has really gone so fast and I’m wishing that it would have lasted a little longer! Oh well, we’ll all just have to enjoy it while it lasts!!!! 🙂

One of my favorite places to shoot photos here in the Midwest is the Missouri Botanical Gardens in St. Louis. It’s one of those places that I’ve been to many times, so the fun challenge for me is to come up with different ways to shoot what’s there. I really do like a challenge like that because it can be something as simple as having the light hit the subject in a different way then when you photographed it the last time! Being at the gardens through out the year can also change the way that the gardens looks with flowers and plants blooming at different times durning that year. For me, there is a serenity that happens at the gardens and being able to walk around and see how things look and then be inspired to create a photograph is something that I’d like to do for a very long time!!! I know what I’ll be doing when I retire!!!! 🙂

Here’s a few of my snaps from a day spent at the Missouri Botanical Gardens!

Two more weeks of summer are out there, so let’s all enjoy it while it’s here!!!! Thanks as always for checking out my work and have a great week to come!!!

I think we’re getting closer to spring!!!

Monday morning Peoria greetings to one and all!!!!

Our weather here in Peoria sure has been whacky this year! In February the weather was very nice and warm and I started to think that winter was going to be over and I wasn’t too upset with that! Well, March came in like a Lion and stayed a Lion the entire month, no Lamb by the end of the month! April hasn’t been anything to write home about and having a Monsoon this past Wednesday and then a little snow on Friday, we still have a ways to go before the warm weather hits!!!!

I was down in St. Louis a weekend ago and one of the things that’s always fun to do is to visit the Missouri Botanical Gardens. St. Louis is a couple of weeks ahead of us in terms of greenery and what’s blooming. It was a very nice day at the gardens and I was able to got a lot of really nice snaps! Here’s some of my photos from the day and I hope that you enjoy them as much as I did shooting them!

I hope that you have a wonderful week and thanks for checking out my work!!!!

Busch Stadium in STL

Monday morning Peoria greetings to one and all!!!

Wow, the weather this past weekend in Peoria and St. Louis was outstanding! We had some rain and a wonderful Canadian cold front that pushed all of the heat and humidity out of the area. The temps were in the mid 70’s and it could have been nicer! We were able to get out of Peoria for a much needed weekend of R & R in St. Louis and it was great. It had been a couple of years since we’d been to a Cardinal game and the weather was perfect on Saturday night, so we grabbed some tickets and made a night of it! There are few stadiums that offer such a beautiful background as Busch Stadium and seeing the city of St. Louis and the Arch as the view is wonderful!!!!

I was able to get a great panoramic shot of the stadium and the city and that’s what I’m sharing with you today!

I hope that you have a wonderful week to come and thanks as always for checking out my work!

Kev

PS, Being a Cubs fan and having my horrible team hopelessly out of the playoffs, I didn’t shed to big of a tear when the Cardinals lost the game! he-he-he!!!!!!
