Kev and the Rockettes!

Rainy Monday morning Peoria greetings to all!

Instead of Bennie and the Jets (for those of you old enough to remember Elton John), it’s Kev and the Rockettes!

We had a great morning shooting on Sunday with some of the Radio City Music Hall “Rockettes” who are in Peoria on a publicity tour for their upcoming Christmas show on November 17th at the Peoria Civic Center (tickets go on sale today) http://christmas.radiocity.com/ The ladies were great to work with and we had a great time shooting in the studio and at a couple of locations in Peoria.

Here’s a quick snap of the Rockettes with the Peoria skyline in the background.

Of course, I had to get a photo with the lovely ladies and before you start laughing, my legs look pretty damn good for a 49 year old!

Thanks as always and I hope that you have a great week!!!!

Big Bend National Park, Texas

Peoria Labor Day Monday morning greetings to all,

First and for most before we start today, let’s keep the people of Louisiana and Texas in our thoughts and prayers over the next couple of days with everything that’s happening today and also all that’s going to be going on with Hurricane Gustav in the coming days. Just a few days ago I was traveling from Big Bend National Park to Atlanta, Ga. and I was going through the areas that are now getting hammered and on the radio they were talking about all the things involving the evacuation of the area. I also saw a ton of the buses that were coming in on the Interstate when I was in Alabama and Mississippi. It looks like everyone followed the warnings and got out before things got bad!

On to the fun stuff! On my whirlwind trip these past few weeks, I stopped down to visit Big Bend National Park for a day. Big Bend is I believe the largest National Park and also the least visited because of it’s location in Southern Texas. I had a great time going around and although I didn’t get to see it all, I did get to see enough to make me want to go back! Here’s one of my snaps and if you look to the left of the shot, you’ll see the Rio Grand River and the area to the right and on the other side of the river is Mexico!

Thanks as always and have a great week!!!!

Wall Arch

Sunny Peoria Monday morning greetings to all,

I was out on the road last week when I heard that one of the arches at Arches National Park in Moab, Utah had collapsed on August 7th. When I heard this, it really made me a little sad because I have seen and photographed Wall Arch an number of times when I’ve visited the park. I think of Arches National Park as one of the very special places that we have here in the U.S., and that’s why I’ve been there so many times!!!

Here’s a link with a before and after photos of Wall Arch along with the details from the National Park Service on what happened.

Here’s a couple of my photos of Wall Arch.

Thanks as always for checking out my snaps and I hope that you have a wonderful week!!!!

Football

Sunny Monday morning greetings to all,

I’m back in town after being on the road last week in Minnesota for a shoot! Photos to come next week!

Here’s a shoot that I did right before leaving town and we had a lot of fun with this one! I was shooting these shots for a sporting goods company and as you can see, it’s time for some football! I was able to do some dramatic and moody lighting which is always a lot of fun!!! In the computer for the post production on these shots, I reduced the color to give these shots a little different feel and really like the way that they turned out!

I’m in town this week and back on the road next, so it’s another crazy summer!!!

Thanks as always and have a wonderful week!!!!

It’s time to get to work,  so have a great week as always!!!!

Tapioca, Tapioca, and more Tapioca!

Sunny warm Monday morning greetings to all!

It’s been a very long time since my mom made me Tapioca pudding and apparently a lot has changed since then! I did a shoot last week for a client and it involved seven different types of Tapioca. These “raw” versions of Tapioca are all Asian and I can’t tell you why they have so many or why they come in all different shapes, sizes and textures. I tried to give every shot a little different feel and here’s the photo so you can see what I came up with!

Thanks as always for checking these out and have an outstanding week!!!!!

Mesilla, N.M. and a 3000 mile Harley ride!

Rainy Monday morning Peoria greetings to all,

I just got back yesterday from my ride out to Las Cruces, New Mexico to see my folks for the 4th of July.  It was cold going out there and nice and warm (and dry) for the ride back to Peoria!  It’s always fun getting to go on a ride of that distance and it’s something that I haven’t gotten to do for a couple of years because I’ve been so busy (and out of the country at times).

While I was down there,  I went to the little village of Mesilla, New Mexico which is right next door to Las Cruces.  If you’re ever down that way,  it’s a great little town with some small shops and a few restaurants and cantina’s!  Here’s a couple of quick snaps from Old Mesilla!

Here’s also a quick snap of me at the White Sands Missile Range on the ride home!

Thanks as always and I hope that you and yours had a safe and wonderful 4th!!!!
