2019 Canoa Cup Collector Car Show

Sunday greetings to one and all!

Jan and I were able to get out yesterday and shoot some photos at the inaugural Canoa Cup Collector Car Show at the Historic Canoa Ranch in Green Valley, Arizona. Since this was the first year for the event, they had hoped to get about 20 cars and ended up getting close to 80 cars, so I’d say that it was a great success! The thing that Jan and I both liked is that there was a very nice mix from old to new, so there was something for everyone!

Here’s a couple of our snaps!

A new camera and lens!

I normally don’t talk about camera gear, but I got a couple of new tools and was finally able to get out and try them. The Canon 1D X Mark II camera and I’ve paired that with the Canon 600mm f/4 lens and boy are they both great together! I was able to get out this past Friday night and shoot a local football game between Sahuarita High School and Palo Verde High School and it was really nice to be back out shooting some sports for fun and trying out this new gear. Needless to say, I’m very happy with the results and can’t wait to get out and shoot some more photos with this new gear! 🙂

Thank you!!!

Tuesday morning Peoria greetings to one and all!

Jan and I have a big announcement to make this morning. As of December 14th of this year, we are retiring! Yes, after 29 years of self-employment, it’s time for us to happily ride off into the sunset! It’s been a great ride and we feel incredibly blessed for all of the great clients that we have worked with all of these years and all of the great photo shoots that we have been a part of since April of 1990! There have been so many friendships that have been made throughout the years and so many great road trips around the United States and the world, as well!

You’re probably thinking, why are we doing this now? Well, we love what we do, but we have so many other things that we want to do and it’s time to start doing them. Jan creates jewelry and has been working for me these past four years and in that time, she’s had to put aside her love of jewelry making because we are on the road so much. I love to hike and ride my bike and we both love to get out and shoot nature photography and are really looking forward to exploring the United States and all of the National Parks that we have here.

One of the things that we are really proud of is that we are leaving on our terms and not being forced out by a company. For those of us over 50 years old, we’ve seen more and more of our friends being forced out of the jobs that they have had, before they were ready to retire. So we take great pride in the fact that we are controlling our own future.

Thanks again, to all of our great clients over the past 29 years, for letting us do what we so love to do and supporting us as you have, all of these years! We couldn’t have done it without you!!!

Have a great rest of the week and a wonderful Thanksgiving next week, too!

Kev and Jan
