I got a new sled!

Sunny Monday morning Peoria greetings to all,

I’ve always loved cars, but I’ve never had a “really” nice car, till now! My friends at Green Chevy hooked me up last week with a 2007 Cadillac CTS and I have to tell you I’m pretty darn impressed! My last car was a 1999 Monte Carlo and I ran that puppy into the ground with just short of 200,000 miles.

I think it’s time for a ride!

Thanks as always for checking out my shots and look for me out on the road!!!!!!!

The creative batteries are recharged!

Somewhat sunny Peoria Monday morning greetings to all,

It’s amazing what a week in the desert does for my soul and mind! I got out everyday last week in New Mexico and hiked around and took a ton of nature shots! That’s living in my book!

On the last day, I did a hike at Baylor Canyon and it’s always very encouraging to see warning signs before you start like the hike like this one. I really like the part about death and rattlesnakes!

The seven mile hike was worth it for this spectacular view of the Las Cruces valley below!

Thanks as always and for my friends in Peoria, I brought back some sun and warmer weather for us!!!!

Recharging the creative batteries!

Rainy Amarillo, Tx. Monday morning greetings to all,

Sometimes being self employed is a very nice thing (ok, most of the time it’s a great thing)! This week is a perfect example, I’ve got no work for the week, so I’m heading down to New Mexico for the week to recharge my creative batteries. I’m planing on shooting nature photography everyday I’ll be down there! It will be a quick trip because I’ll be back to P-Town on Sunday the 14th.

Here’s a quick snap for a studio shoot when I was bored silly just recently!

Thanks as always for checking out my snaps and have a great week!

Boy Scouts 100th Anniversary

Cloudy Peoria Monday morning greetings to all!

It’s very rare for me to see how my photography is used by clients and to my surprise last week, I got to see one of my shots on a billboard here in Peoria. The Boy Scouts are celebrating their 100th anniversary and have launched a new campaign to promote scouting. The Boy Scouts is another one of my charities that I enjoy helping out!

Here’s my snap of former scout, Dr. Stephen Bash shot at OSF in one of their operating rooms.

Thanks as always for checking out my work and have a great week!

The Markley and Luciano show

Snowy winter Peoria monday morning greetings to all!

With six more inches of snow last night, I’m officially sick of winter!!!! What am I doing here in Peoria?

Last week I had the crew from the Markley and Luciano show on 102.3 Max-Fm into the studio for some new publicity photos and we had a blast! After getting some of the standard shots out of the way, we had Jamie, Phil and Hannah get a little nutty and have some fun and they did!

Thanks as always for checking out my work and have a wonderful week!

Kev

P.S. Now it’s time to get the snow blower out and try to clear the studio parking lot! Won’t that be fun!

Grand Lodge in Wausau, Wi.

Cold Monday morning Peoria greetings to all,

I was up in Wausau, Wi. last week for a shoot at Stoney Creek’s latest hotel project and if you’ve got a family, it’s the perfect place to go in the winter time! Grand Lodge besides being a wonderful hotel also has an indoor 50,000 sq ft water park and I sure wish that we had a place like this when I was a kid! It sure would have made those winters in Rockford a whole lot shorter!

Here’s a quick snap of the lobby and you can see that it’s a pretty darn big place!

Have a great week and thanks as always for checking out my work!

“Who Dat” and “Myth”, $1.5 million dollars

Cloudy Wisconsin Monday morning greetings to all,

If you can indulge me for just one moment, “Who Dat”! Last night’s Super Bowl victory for the New Orleans Saints wasn’t just for the team, but for the people of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana and the whole Gulf Coast region! That whole area needed a boost of positive news to really jump start people and get tourists coming back to Louisiana and Mississippi! My head was telling me that the Colts were going to win, but my heart was rooting for the Saints! Sometimes the heart does win out!

One of the most frequently asked questions that I get asked is, “What’s the most expensive thing that you’ve shot here in the studio?” We’ve had some pretty cool cars in the studio in the past and last year we had a $400k Ferrari and that had to be the topper till this past week! “Myth” is a custom hand built car and this is the only one in the world! Myth was a five year project and I can’t even begin to imagine the amount of time that went into this over those five years!

I knew this shoot was going to be a big deal when the trailer bringing the car was a semi! That was a first here at the studio!

Here’s a snap of the car know as Myth!

Thanks as always for checking out my snaps and I hope that you have a great week!!!!

“Scotch on the rocks”

Cloudy Monday morning Peoria greetings to all!

Over the last ten years, the style of photography that we do has changed from more complex set-ups to more of a photojournalism style (Thank God I’ve got a degree in photojournalism). One of the things that I do miss though is that we don’t take as much time to play with shots like we did in the past!

At the end of last week things were slow, so I took advantage of the time to play and shoot some shots for me! This was about just playing with the lighting and seeing what I could come up with. Here are three snaps of “Scotch on the rocks”! I really had a lot of fun with this and I think that it shows in these snaps!

Thanks as always for checking out my work and I hope that you have a great week!
