Houmas House

Sunny Port St. Joe Monday morning greetings!

We were over in Darrow, Louisiana last week and visited the Houmas House Plantation and Gardens and I have to tell you it was pretty cool! We really lucked out and they stayed open past dark, so I was able to grab this great snap at sundown!

Thanks as always for checking out my work and I hope that you have a safe and fun New Years this coming weekend!

Vicksburg, Mississippi

Sunny Monday morning Big Easy greetings to all!

It’s Christmas week and for most of you that means a short work week! Yea!!!!

It’s that time of year for me when things are very slow and it’s a great time to leave town and take a little vacation. Jan and I are down in NOLA this week and are going to get out and see the countryside and all that’s doing. On the way down here, we stopped in Vicksburg, Ms. and grabbed a few snaps including this one of the the old Vicksburg Bridge over the Mississippi River.

As always, if you’re traveling this Christmas week to visit those that you love and care about, be safe on the roads and in the air!

Have a wonderful Christmas week!

Breaking even, a goal achieved!!!

Snowy Peoria Monday morning greetings to all,

I just got back to P-town last night after my three week road trip and I’m seeing snow on the ground! Yuck! I’m going back to a warmer climate!

I achieved a really big goal for the business last week and I didn’t think it was going to happen this year. At the start of every year, I have a goal to do as well as I did the year before and in past years, I’ve been pretty good about making that goal. For 2009, I knew that doing what I did in 2008 was going to be virtually impossible looking at the economic storm clouds that were coming. I set the goal for 2009 to just break even as a business, I’ve never come close to setting the bar that low before. By the end of the 1st quarter, business was off 85% for the year and I thought for sure I wouldn’t make it. By the end of the summer, things were looking a lot better and I had a good sumer and that really helped greatly. At that time I thought realizing my goal was going to be a piece of cake. I was wrong! By the end of October, I was still short of the goal and knew that if I didn’t make it by Thanksgiving, it probably wasn’t going to happen. Last week I was down in Atlanta on a shoot and I realized the goal.

2009 is going to be a year that a lot of people are going to want to forget and move on from. A lot of very good people lost jobs and good business’s closed!!!!!! 2010 is looking a little brighter and let’s hope that it is. I will remain optimistic that we’ll all be in better shape next year! The goal for next year will be to break even once again!

Before I headed to Atlanta last week, I was able to drive through Destin, Fl. and grab a couple of snaps and here’s one of those of HarborWalk Village

Many thanks to all of my wonderful clients that hired me this year and helped me achieve this incredibly important goal!

Thanksgiving and New Mexico

Post Thanksgiving greetings to all,

It was really nice being out in New Mexico last week to see my folks and celebrate Thanksgiving with them. The weather was great and it’s always nice being out there at this time of the year!

While I was out there, I was able to get out everyday and shoot some personal photos for me which is always a great way to get back to photography as a hobby! One of my favorite spots is the Dripping Springs Natural Area just outside of Las Cruces, N.M. and I go there every time I visit my folks! Here’s one of my snaps of the Organ Mountains.

It’s time to get busy this week, so thanks as always for checking out my snaps and I hope that you have a great week!!!!!

Rain and a 427 Shelby Cobra

Rainy Peoria Monday morning greetings to all,

I was supposed to be shooting farming stuff this week and we got spanked again by the rain and bad weather here in Central Illinois! You’d think that it was March instead of November out there! Oh well!

We did have a 427 Shelby Cobra in the studio last week, so I guess that makes up for the disappointment of this week!

If you’re traveling this coming weekend for the Thanksgiving week, have safe travels and make it back home in one piece!

Thanks as always and have a great week!!!!!!

Monday morning Peoria greetings to all!

We’ve finally been getting some great weather in Central Illinois the past week and I’ve been out shooting a lot of harvesting stuff with the farmers! I was also able to get out and get a really nice shot of the city of Peoria as well. Here’s my snap of Peoria and the riverfront from the Bob Michael Bridge on the left to the Murray-Baker Bridge on the right.

I hope that you have a great week to come and thanks for checking out my work!

The most depressing day of the year!

Cloudy Monday morning Peoria greetings to all!

There’s not too much in life that depresses me, but when we turn the clocks back from daylight saving time, it kills me! Yesterday I’m at home watching NFL football and Nascar and life couldn’t be better! Since we turned the clocks back yesterday, here’s the sun going down at 4:30 pm and by a little after 5:00 pm, it’s pretty well dark! I hate that! Like a migrating bird, I think I’m going to head down to the Southern Hemisphere for their summer!!!!!!

Besides turning back the clock, the weather (rain) has been killing my farming and harvesting shoots, so that means more football (yea)! The IHSA play-offs started Saturday and I was out shooting a game between Washington H.S. and Rich East H.S. (Park Forrest, Il.) and it was a great day to be outside! The game wasn’t even close though with Washington winning 42-0, but I did manage to get a few good snaps!

Thanks as always for checking out my work and have a great week!!!!!

Rain and High School Football

Rainy Peoria Monday morning greetings to all!

All this rain that we’re having in Central Illinois over the past few weeks is spanking me on a couple of farm shoots that we are trying to get in before the end of the year! Other then the ducks, I can’t think of anyone else that’s too happy about this!

I was over in Washington, Illinois on Saturday morning shooting some freshman high school football and it was fun to see the kids out there slopping around in all the mud! I’m sure the moms were going to love washing these uniforms!!!!

Here’s a quick snap of Washington’s Austin Reel (No. 31) scoring a touchdown!

Thanks as always for checking out my work and try to have a dry week!!!!!
