Monday morning Peoria greetings to one and all!
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably know that the Chicago Cubs won baseball’s World Series last week. Now as happy as I was for myself, I was more happy for my dad. At 82 years old and growing up about two miles from Wrigley Field, he’s seen a lifetime of disappointment in his Cubs and it’s always been wait until next year. Well miracles do happen and the Cubs finally did it. I talked to my dad on the phone the day after they won and he was still beaming about the nail biting game that won it all!
A couple of quick stories about my dad and Cubs baseball. When he was a kid, it cost a nickel to sit in the bleachers in Wrigley Field and he said at some point the Cubs raised the price of the bleacher seats to a quarter. He said that when they did that, the town lost their collective minds as to how expensive tickets had gotten. The other story is that my dad and his buddies would collect bottles for their deposit money and turn them in to make money for tickets to the games. They would skip school to go to the games and the irony of that is that my dad became a high school teacher!
Enough of the baseball talk, let’s talk some football. I was able to get over to Washington, Illinois on Saturday to shoot a high school playoff game and it was a perfect day for a game and photography. Washington ended up beating Centralia 23 – 16 and I was able to get a few good photos and that’s always a good thing!
Here’s a couple of my shots from Saturday’s game!
Thanks as always for checking out our work and we hope that you have a great week to come!!!!
