More road trips and Monument Valley!

30 03 2009

Sunny Peoria Monday morning greetings to all,

It’s good to be back in Peoria after being on the road for a few weeks. I had two different shoots in New Mexico and Colorado the past couple of weeks and things went well! I’m looking to do more shoots like that. If I’ve got a shoot somewhere in the US, I’ll let you know and if you need any help along the way, I’ll see what I can do to help out!

On my way from Farmington, N.M. to Denver, Co., I made a stop at one of my favorite places to shoot nature photography. Monument Valley, Az. is a pretty special place and in some ways a very spiritual place. Here’s one of my quick snaps and I lucked out on getting a great evening to shoot.

Thanks as always and I’ll keep you up to speed on more road trip shoots!!!!

Rocky Mountain High!

23 03 2009

Snowy Monday Denver, Colorado greetings to all!

I was on my way to Denver (from Utah) on Sunday and passed Lake Dillion and since it was such a beautiful day, I stopped and snapped a quick photo of the lake. Today, there is going to be anywhere from 10 to 20 inches of new snow in the Rocky Mountains, so it should be a real mess!!!!

I should be in Denver on a shoot for most of this week and at the latest back to Peoria by the end of the week!!!!

I hope that you have a great week and thanks as always!!!!

Sunrise at the “Cadillac Ranch”

16 03 2009

Sunny Monday Morning Las Cruces, N.M. greetings to all!

I don’t know about you, but I’m getting pretty tired of all this gloom and doom that we’ve been hearing about (in the media) for the last number of months! I’m tired of this recession and I’m not participating in it anymore!!!!! Sure things could be better, but so what? It’s time to more on and start living our lives, not living in fear!!! Enough of that!!!!!

I’ve taken my dog and pony show on the road for the next few weeks and I’ll be on a shoot later this week in Northern New Mexico and next week I’ll be on another shoot in Denver for a few days and that’s going to be great!!!! I’ll be heading back to Peoria on I-70 through Kanas and Missouri or on I-80 through Nebraska and Iowa. If you need anything shot in either of those areas, let me know and I’ll be happy to help out on the way back home!

On my way out to New Mexico, I’ve gone by the Cadillac Ranch (5 miles west of Amarillo, Tx. on I-40) a number of times, but never had the time to stop and and get some snaps. Well, I made time yesterday morning and it was well worth the stop. Here’s a link with the background information on the Cadillac Ranch and you might find it interesting! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadillac_Ranch Here’s also one of my snaps from Sunday morning and I hope that you like it as well!!!!

Thanks as always for checking out my work (and my rant) and I hope that you have a great week!!!!!!

Denver Art Museum

9 03 2009

Sunny Monday morning Peoria greetings to all,

On the way out to Moab, Ut. a few weeks ago, we made a rest stop in Denver and snapped a few frames at the Denver Art Museum. The architecture of the museum is just what I like with all of the straight lines and angles. It’s also all metal and looks pretty darn shiny. We had a great day to shoot and here are a few of the snaps from that day.

Thanks as always and enjoy your week!!!!!

Moab, Ut. and self-employment!

2 03 2009

Sunny cold Peoria Monday morning greetings to all,

One of the biggest advantages to being self-employed is the freedom to do something at the drop of a hat. Last week was one of those times. I didn’t have any work and I thought, “why am I hanging out here in Peoria with nothing to shoot, why not get the heck out of here”? So I did. I loaded up the car and headed out to Moab, Ut. and Arches National Park for a couple of days and shot some nature photography. It was great getting out and hiking some of the trails and shooting photos for me (and for stock). It’s always a great recharge of my creative batteries when I can go out and shoot some photos like this!

Here’s one of my shots from Arches and this is probably the most famous arch at ANP. It’s called “Delicate Arch” and it’s the only one like this at the park.

Thanks as always for checking out my snaps and I hope that you have an outstanding week!!!!
